The Kolisi Cuff
Conservation | July 2025
When Siya Kolisi led South Africa to Rugby World Cup victory in 2019 as the first Black captain of the Springboks, he didn’t just make history – he became a global symbol of unity, resilience, and hope. Since then, he has gone on to lift the Webb Ellis Cup once more, in 2023, becoming the only South African captain to win two World Cups – a feat that has further cemented his legendary status both on and off the field.
But Siya’s story is about more than sporting triumphs. From his humble beginnings in Zwide to the world stage, his journey reflects a deep commitment to uplifting others. Through the Kolisi Foundation, he continues to champion education, food security, gender-based violence prevention, and youth empowerment across South Africa.
It’s this spirit of purpose, perseverance, and possibility that lies at the heart of our latest collaboration – the Kolisi Cuff.
Rewinding slightly, to where it all began, we sent Siya a Zimbabwe Cord Bangle as a heartfelt Father’s Day gift in 2024, with no idea it would arrive on his birthday. No fanfare, no publicity – just a meaningful gesture. But from that serendipitous moment, a connection was forged. One built on shared values: legacy, craftsmanship, family, community – and an unshakable belief in the power of Africa.
From that simple beginning, a beautiful friendship has grown. It has seen Siya and the Kolisi Foundation team host an event at the Patrick Mavros London flagship store, and more recently, he journeyed to the Victoria Falls boutique in Zimbabwe. This relationship – between two African families – has unfolded with authenticity and purpose. And now, it takes form in silver.

01
The Kolisi Foundation was established by Siya and Rachel Kolisi with a shared vision of creating meaningful, long-term change in South Africa. Built on the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to thrive, the Foundation works to address inequality by investing in communities and supporting those most in need.
02
Rather than offering short-term solutions, the Kolisi Foundation is committed to creating sustainable change that strengthens communities over time. Its work is guided by the understanding that lasting impact comes from empowering people, building resilience, and addressing the root causes of inequality.
03
The Foundation's work is centred around three key focus areas: food security, education and sport, and gender-based violence prevention and response. Together, these pillars reflect a holistic approach to improving wellbeing, expanding opportunity, and creating safer, stronger communities.
04
The Kolisi Foundation works alongside trusted community organisations, recognising that local expertise is essential to creating meaningful change. By supporting and strengthening existing initiatives, the Foundation helps extend their reach and deepen their impact where it matters most.
05
Guided by the philosophy "Remember the one, one by one," the Foundation believes that meaningful change begins with individual lives. Every partnership, programme, and initiative is shaped by the idea that helping one person has the power to create lasting change for families, communities, and future generations.
The Kolisi Cuff, designed by Patrick Mavros Jnr. and handcrafted in solid sterling silver, is a powerful tribute to purpose-driven impact. Inspired by the Kolisi Foundation logo and the bold geometry of the South African flag, the design carries story and strength in every detail. It’s a unisex piece – available in sizes from S to XXL – and made to be worn with pride.

The Kolisi Foundation is committed to supporting vulnerable and underserved communities across South Africa. From food security and education to youth development and gender-based violence prevention, the foundation’s work is far-reaching and deeply needed.
As a family business rooted in African heritage, it is a true honour for us to stand alongside a cause so aligned with our own values. With 10% of each Kolisi Cuff going directly to the Kolisi Foundation, this is more than a piece of jewellery – it’s a powerful symbol of purpose, an emblem of making a difference.
